I trust you all are doing great. Today we are going to be talking about a new drug store foundation that is making waves right now and after some of my favourite beauty bloggers raved about it, I know I had to get my hands on it. It’s the L.A. Colors Truly Matte Foundation.
The long wearing, high pigment formula applies as a liquid and blends to a beautiful matte, powder-like finish. Available in 14 shades to compliment a wide range of skin tones.
The L.A. Colors Truly Matte Foundation comes in a 1.3fl oz/40ml plastic tube with a pump. Nothing fancy and I don’t expect it to be cause it’s just $6. I got the shade cappuccino, which is a decent match.
The L.A. Color Truly Matte Foundation is a full coverage foundation. It covers up my spots, blemishes and evens out my skin with two pumps leaving a very flawless and smooth finish.
It is pigmented and thick in texture. It blends seamlessly into the skin with a brush or beauty blender and It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey at all.. This foundation is buildable if you want more coverage. It doesn’t settle into fine lines and blurs my pores beautifully. It doesn’t dry or set super quickly so you have enough time to work with it.
Once blended out, it dries down to a powdery matte finish that isn’t flat. It lasted for up to 6 hours on me before touch-up without separating and settling into fine lines.
The only down side to this foundation is that it oxidizes. Cappuccino is a perfect shade for me but after it settles, it turns slightly dark. I fix it highlighter and contour. I will get a shade lighter to mix and see how it goes (will update you guys).
Overall, I love this foundation. The finish is flawless, last more than 6 hours before touch up and VERY pocket friendly. What’s not to love!
